This holiday season, Sur-Flo was grateful to participate in Wood’s Homes for the Holidays for a second year, continuing our support of an initiative focused on easing the financial and emotional stress many families and children experience during this time of year. Wood’s Homes operates mental health centres across Alberta, supporting more than 20,000 at-risk and vulnerable children, youth, and families annually, with programs spanning Calgary, Strathmore, Lethbridge, and Fort McMurray.

As part of this year’s campaign, Sur-Flo purchased and wrapped gifts in support of one family and one program, delivering them directly to the Parkdale campus in Calgary.

The family supported is currently navigating a period of significant transition and loss. Connected to a school-based support program, the children are working through emotional and socioeconomic challenges that can make the holiday season especially difficult. Care was taken to select thoughtful, practical gifts—items chosen to bring comfort, familiarity, and a sense of stability during a time of change.

Sur-Flo also supported the U12 Stabilization Program, a short-term care program that provides a safe, structured environment for young children who require temporary behavioural and therapeutic support. While children are in the program, their families are given the opportunity to rest, regroup, and build the supports needed for reunification. Through professional guidance, individualized care plans, and therapeutic services, the program focuses on helping both children and caregivers move forward with confidence and long-term stability.

This holiday season, Sur-Flo’s contribution helped ensure that even for children who may not be home for the holidays, the spirit of the season still reached them—a quiet reminder that Santa can still find his way, no matter where a child may be.

These gifts represent more than holiday presents—they are a reminder that children and families facing challenges are supported and not alone. Sur-Flo is honoured to be a Miracle Maker again this year and deeply appreciative of the opportunity to participate for a second year.
