On June 13th, Sur-Flo proudly volunteered at the annual Day1Dads Charity Golf Tournament, an event dedicated to supporting the impactful work of Wood’s Homes, a children’s mental health center. Since 1914, Wood’s Homes has provided essential treatment and support for children, youth, and families dealing with mental health needs. This non-profit organization plays a critical role in our community, and Sur-Flo was honored to contribute to their cause.
The Day1Dads Impact Foundation, founded by two friends and fathers, Curtis and Steve, is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect dads with the resources they need to be the best fathers they can be. Curtis and Steve, with over 25 years of friendship, believe that every dad has the potential to make a positive impact in their children’s lives. They are dedicated to providing the tools and support necessary for dads to succeed, fostering a strong, supportive community where fathers can rely on each other for help, advice, and encouragement as they navigate the challenges and joys of fatherhood.
The tournament took place under perfect weather conditions, with clear blue skies, a gentle breeze, and warm sunshine making for an ideal day on the green. The event saw impressive attendance, with a diverse group of participants ranging from seasoned golfers to enthusiastic amateurs. The sense of community and camaraderie was palpable, as everyone came together with the shared goal of supporting the Day1Dads Impact Foundation and Wood’s Homes. The energy and enthusiasm of the attendees were contagious, making it a day to remember.
The Sur-Flo Team ran the Hole-in-One giveaway on Hole 17, for which we had a few golfers come close to achieving! Throughout the day, we witnessed some incredible swings and near-misses that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. While no one managed to score a hole-in-one this time, we were still dedicated to providing great vibes and making sure everyone enjoyed themselves at Hole 17!
Beyond the fun and competition, the Day1Dads Charity Golf Tournament was about making a difference. The proceeds from the event support Wood’s Homes and the various initiatives of the Day1Dads Impact Foundation, such as Family Social Events, Social Impact Recycling, and the ‘Wear With Care’ merchandise program. These initiatives are designed to empower fathers and their families, ensuring they have access to the support and resources they need to thrive.
Volunteering at the Day1Dads Charity Golf Tournament was a rewarding experience for the Sur-Flo team. We are grateful for the opportunity to support such important causes and to connect with so many wonderful people. Thank you to everyone who participated and made the day a success.
